Dr. Akash Mehta, DO, ACGME, is a physician at Vein Doctor with approximately 14 years of clinical experience. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he brings extensive expertise in high acuity care, procedural medicine, and patient monitoring. His background in emergency medicine provides a strong foundation for evaluating and managing patients with venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and spider veins, with a focus on identifying underlying contributors to circulatory symptoms.

At Vein Doctor, Dr. Mehta evaluates patients experiencing leg pain, swelling, heaviness, and visible veins, helping them understand the vascular factors contributing to their condition. He is involved in the management of vein disease through minimally invasive treatments, including sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation (RFA), as part of individualized care plans. His clinical approach is centered on careful evaluation of each patient’s medical history, symptoms, and treatment goals, allowing him to make evidence-based recommendations tailored to the individual. Training & Recognition
Dr. Mehta earned his dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Microbiology before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York. He completed his ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he developed advanced expertise in procedural sedation, vascular access, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring, skills that are directly applicable to minimally invasive vein treatments. In addition to his work in vein care, he has experience as a ketamine infusion specialist for treatment-resistant depression and chronic pain within a physician-led practice. Throughout his career, he has held multiple leadership roles, including Co-Founder and Physician Owner of MindPain Relief Institute, Chair of an Emergency Department Sepsis Committee, and leadership positions within the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
